- I have a FireCracker 24 Graphics Card which seems to be defective in two areas:
-
- 1) The 2 Meg of memory which is factory installed doesn't seem to be recognized by WB.
- 2) The pass-through option on the card seems to cause the display to slightly flicker; however,
- I have noticed this change when I move the chord, so it's possible that it may just be a
- connection between the chord and the port.
-
- I had received this card from a gentleman on this newsgroup for my sister's machine. When I
- found it to be defective, I contacted the gentleman and it seems he is not willing to even
- answer my request for a refund from him, let alone actually refunding it. Therefore I'd like to offer
- it to anyone who thinks they might be able to fix it for themselves, or who just has an interest
- in defective merchandise. Therefore, I'm offering it to anyone for $100 obo.
-
- A few notes to remember:
-
- 1) The FireCracker 24 does NOT fix the flicker of laced modes.
- 2) The memory does NOT recognise (as stated above)
- 3) The manual I received from this gentleman seems to be a photocopy of an older manual.
- However, since I've never seen an original manual, it could very well be the real thing.
- 4) The disks appear to be original. If they aren't I'd rather not send them (cause that's piracy.)
- However, in that case, I will provide you with the telephone number for Impulse (as soon as
- I find it) and send that number with the package. They should be able to provide you with
- updated software.
-
- Please understand the defectiveness of this product... (in other words, please don't expect this card
- to be in perfect working order). I've found it defective in the above places.
-
- If you are interested, please e-mail me at j_bowman@acad.lvc.edu. Maybe somewhere this can be
- put to good use. As for my sister, I'll have to find her another solution somewhere else.
-
- Thanks,
- John Bowman
